de.NBI Summer School on Cloud Computing for Bioinformatics, June and July 2017, Germany

The German Network for Bioinformatics Infrastructure (de.NBI) presents the first Summer School on Cloud Computing for Bioinformatics that is organised by the Bielefeld-Gießen (BiGi) Center for Microbial Bioinformatics. The Summer School will take place between June 25 and July 1, 2017 at the Justus-Liebig-University Giessen.

This de.NBI Summer School will focus on the utilisation of Cloud Computing infrastructures for bioinformatics. Participants will be instructed in the usage of OpenStack based Cloud Computing environments and gain understanding of the possibilities and limitations of Cloud Computing resources for bioinformatics software development and data analysis. The summer school aims at PhD students, postdoctoral fellows or other scientists with a solid background in bioinformatics and software development. We also expect that participants are familiar with UNIX/Linux systems and have a basic understanding of storage and computing devices. During the practical sessions we will also consider the individual demands of participants if possible.

Application deadline: May 15, 2017
